"My whole life has been dedicated to wine and at no time has my passion ever slowed down", says António Saramago, Portugal’s oldest winemaker who is still working.  

António Saramago’s 60 years of dedication to wine make him the master of the Castelão grape variety, the ex-libris of the Setúbal Peninsula, and he knows it like the back of his hand.  

After decades creating excellent wines, helping to build iconic brands, such as Tapada de Coelheiros - perhaps the most emblematic -, he now focuses solely on AS Vinhos, which he created with his wife and children, his own project, in the land where he was born. 

In addition to the award-winning reds, made from Castelão, his sublime Setúbal muscatels have received magnificent reviews.
