Around the nineteen forties, Abilio Ferreira de Carvalho developed a recipe for Liqueur de Ginja in a small tavern. 

The liqueur is produced from the fruits grown in their own Ginjais, certified and with a Protected Geographical Indication (IGP). 

The cherries are carefully selected, then macerated for 12 months, resulting in a 100% natural liqueur: probably one of the best liqueurs in the world. 

The “Mariquinhas” brand is inspired by Fado, with notes in its branding, of various traditional Portuguese elements such as Filigrees and Embroidery, transmitting, through this image, the true Portuguese culture.
