The desire to return to her roots, her love of the land and belief in the terroir led Diana Silva to start this ambitious project. The producer decided to invest in a project of her own, in the Madeira region and in the unloved native grape variety Tinta Negra, but to make still wines.
In 2018, she launched the Ilha trilogy - a red, a Blanc de Noirs (the first in the region) and a rosé, which was later joined by a white from the Verdelho grape variety.
Diana Silva set up partnerships with six small wine growers in the Region's two main producing areas: Estreito de Câmara de Lobos (on the south coast) and São Vicente (on the north coast).
The wines are produced at the Adega de São Vicente, the land she believes to be the most appropriate for Tinta Negra, which she considers to be the variety of the future and the one which will bring more prestige to Madeiran DOP wines. "No grape variety over the centuries has adapted as well as Tinta Negra. It is our variety and produces unique, unequalled wines", says the producer.
Her creations are an experience for all lovers and enthusiasts of the wine world, who will have the pleasure of tasting the atlanticity, minerality, acidity and elegance of the 'Pearl of the Atlantic'!
