Proudly Sadino.
The Sado is the most important river in the wine-growing region of the Setúbal Peninsula and has a unique ecosystem that harbours an enormous diversity of natural life. Its estuary is home to the largest community of bottlenose dolphins in Europe.
These wines reflect not only the character of these lands, situated between the river, the mountains and the sea, but also the gentle, cheerful and irreverent personality of the dolphins that have made their home here.
The Setúbal Peninsula covers two very distinct terroirs: the Serra da Arrábida area, closer to the sea and the Atlantic influence, with hillside soils where clay and limestone predominate; and the Palmela area, with poorer sandy soils and a hotter, drier climate.
The Terras do Sado wines produced by Sociedade Vinícola de Palmela come from these two terroirs, taking their elegance and freshness from the Arrábida grapes and their structure and concentration from the Palmela grapes, resulting in balanced, deep wines that honour the land that gave them birth.
